You’ll be seeing this, er, memorable face somewhere in Batman In Wonderland: The Ride this October! He may seem familiar in more ways than one to my hometown friends…

AND THE MADNESS BEGIN-ETH.

This is the first physical piece of the ride that I have built! It’s for the Mad Tea Party scene. Had quite a lot of fun moonlighting as an upholsterer!

Batman in…Wonderland? What?

Hello! Welcome to the “official” Tumblr of my senior final project/capstone! My name is Gretchen, and in December I will graduate (a semester early!) with a BA in Theatre from Arizona State University.

Usually, theatre students choose a play to put on/perform in for their capstone, as they are, well, theatre students! So, what am I doing? What is “Batman in Wonderland?” What would Batman be doing in Wonderland, anyway?

Well, to answer those questions, I must tell you first that have always loved Disney. I have known that I want to work for Disney for many years know. I am positive that I want to make my career within the many facets of the Walt Disney Company. Specifically, I would like to be an Imagineer and design the elements of the parks- more specifically, the rides.

I checked and double checked, and I am fully covering all of the ASU capstone requirements by doing an interactive small scale theme park ride! Golf carts decorated as the Batmobile to carry passengers and everything. ;) As far as themes, I decided to take something non-Disney that I love and merge it with something Disney that I also love! Thus, Batman in Wonderland: The Ride was born.

In my approximately 8 minute ride, going up for just one night in October, you as the riders/audience will experience the ride *as* Batman going on a crazy ride through Wonderland- where you may just recognize a character or two in more ways than one…
